With the Squid Game's first Netflix series, Hoyeon, a South Korean model and actress, attracted international attention. Hoyeon won the Screen Actors Guild Award in Outstanding Performance by Female Actors on Drama Series. Hoyeon also received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in Outstanding Supporting Actress in Drama Series. Hailing from Myeonmok-dong located in the suburbs of Seoul Hoyeon began her professional career as a model for hire when she walked in Seoul Fashion Week. She competed on Seoul's fourth series of Next Top Model and placed as a runner-up. The international spotlight came in 2016 when Louis Vuitton offered her an exclusive global contract. Since then, she's been featured in numerous campaigns as well as walked the runway for designers like Chanel, Fendi, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, and Moschino just to name a couple.
