Mischa Barton

Barton is a British-American actress working in film in television, theatre, and film. At the Lincoln Center in New York City Barton made her stage debut with Tony Kushner's Slavs! James Lapine's Twelve Dreams was her first character. The actress made her acting debut in the year 1996, when she appeared on the American serial drama All My Children, and she voiced characters in the Nickelodeon animated series KaBlam! from 1996 until 1997. The first time she was recognized for her acting was Lawn Dogs, a drama that starred Sam Rockwell. Her other notable films include M. Night Shyamalan's psycho film The Sixth Sense (1998) as well as the romantic comedy Notting Hill (1998). In 1999, she was a lead character in the independent crime thriller Pups. Barton later acted as Evan Rachel Wood's friend in ABC's Once and Again 2001 and the indie drama Lost and Delirious (2002). The actress played Marissa Cooper in the 2003-2006 season of the Fox TV series The O.C., for which she won two Teen Choice Awards. Barton gained notoriety for play the role as well as Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Barton has acted since then in the comedy St. Trinian's, the drama Closing the Ring directed by Richard Attenborough and the drama Closing the Ring.
