When she competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the Olympian became a worldwide sensation when she scored the first asymmetrical perfect ten bars. And in the year 1976, Nadia Comaneci would go on to record six more perfect 10s and became the most youthful Olympic silver medalist. Nadia Comaneci didn't just make headlines across the globe, but she also helped put Romania on the map. Through achieving a feat which was impossible to achieve, this sporting icon brought gymnastics into the spotlight of global attention. The sport changed the way people view female athletes. Her contribution to the Olympics was so significant it is that 2 of her routines including the toe-on as well as the release move is named in her honor. Both are classified as high-level difficulty.
