Azita Ghanizada

Azita Ghanizada is one of the Afghan American actress in the United States who has appeared in numerous television shows. She is an American actor from Afghanistan that was raised in Kabul Afghanistan. After fleeing her country of birth, her family moved into the US. They were given asylum, and were allowed to remain. Her sister in law raised her in Northern Virginia. Ghanizada launched her television career by being featured in National Commercials. Ghanizada's performance in the Laura Neri 2004 film A Kiss on the Nose as Chiara received her a nomination for the Best Actress award at one of the film festivals. She appeared as an actor in a variety of television series, including How I Met Your Mother Veronica Mars Wedding Bells Num3RS Bones Psych & Castle. She most recently had the role of a support actress in the science-fiction action film Blood Shot (2009) and the independent comedies You Only Better (2009). In 2008 Ghanizada became part of the cast for General Hospital. General Hospital prime-time spin-off General Hospital. Season 2 of Nightshift saw Ghanizada as the role of Dr. Saira Bhatra, a physician who is a specialist in holistic healing.
